getGordon® is the brainchild of it’s founder Jim Stratton. Stratton was continuously frustrated with the inconsistent performance of the salespeople at his business to business marketing company.

The company spent a lot of money generating leads – which were given to the sales force to follow up. Regardless of who the sales manager was or what type of reporting controls were put in place – lead follow up was random, sloppy, inconsistent or non-existent.

Earlier in his career – Stratton had a superstar salesperson named Gordon. Gordon was absolutely relentless in following up EVERY lead. Amazingly – in terms of selling skills he was just above average – perhaps good, but not great. He did NOT possess those rare charismatic skills that seem to reside in the top 1% of the sales profession. Gordon knew the fundamentals and was a solid, reliable performer -- the typical rank and file salesperson that populate most sales organizations.


What made Gordon a superstar?

Gordon was SUPER-ORGANIZED – a rare trait amongst salespeople. And he created a time sequenced methodical follow up system that pursued every opportunity until it was sold or dead. He would follow up by phone, fax and mail – with relevant information that would nurture the prospect until they were ready to buy.

His execution was flawless – and it propelled him to the top year after year. He always had the highest conversion percentage and the shortest sales cycle. Stratton’s efforts to replicate Gordon’s system with the rest of the sales force was frustrating. They simply did not possess the almost super-human organizational skills of Gordon to administer the follow up system.

Fast forward to 2005 – Stratton researches the marketplace for a software application that might be able to replicate what Gordon was able to do. None existed.

So he hired a team of developers to create one. And getGordon® was born. So now every company can get Gordon to follow up on their leads with a timed sequenced follow up series.
